I have a B. A. in Secondary Education from the University of Michigan (with teaching certifications in English, mathematics, and psychology) and a M. A. in Educational Technology from Michigan State University.
Experience
I have over seven years of teaching experience at the high school level. I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and American Literature for a wide range of learners with varying ability levels. I have spent hundreds of hours over the years individually tutoring my students as well as running a math tutoring program at my place of employment. I truly enjoy helping students learn and gain confidence in math. I believe in teaching students multiple approaches to problems and giving them the freedom to use methods that support his or her self-efficacy. I am very patient and kind and adjust my teaching to the pace an individual student needs.
